Colin Jarvis - Cornwall County Council, Rebecca Lyle - Cornwall County Council

July 2007: scheme acheived DfT Programme Entry and conditional funding approval for harbour improvements.

March 2008: CCC appointed design and build contractor.

May 2008: Prior Information Notice was issued for the vessel operation.

June 2008: Tenders for the vessel build were issued to European ship yards.

July 2008: Public exhibitions of the developing design were held (this will be repeated with the detail design prior to Planning Applications being submitted in Autumn 2008.

Dates on the timescales have been reviewed in light of the following:

Vessel tenders were returned in September 2008 but it was not possible to identify a preferred bidder. Therefore the decision has been taken to go out to tender again.  Currently the date of the delivery of the new vessel is under review - whilst it could be November 2011 this is being tested in order to evaluate the effect of re-programming delivery to March 2012 (the start of the main visitor season). Therefore a band of dates are given within the timescales at this stage.

October 2008: Contract Notice for the vessel operation will be published
Contract Notice for Vessel build published (repeat of process)
